Local Events

At the Handy Mag we believe in supporting local communities and therefore advertise all local groups and charities for free. We can list your events here and in our magazines to make sure your group or event receives the best possible exposure in your local area.

The St Andrew Society

The St Andrew Society of York has a full programme of events each year, not all with a Scottish bias. Last year we enjoyed a trip to the seaside, a coffee morning, a BBQ and even solved a murder mystery.

We also celebrated St Andrew’s Night with a dinner dance too. Still to come are our Burns’ celebration, an evening of entertainment, celebrating the wonders of the Scottish Isles and we round off the year with a Gardeners Questions evening. Our Ladies Circle meets monthly from May to October and we enjoy a delicious lunch in good company and are often entertained by very interesting speakers.

Our new year begins in May and we already have a full programme planned.

If you have an interest in things Scottish and might like to join us or would like to find out more about us, please visit our website: www.yorkscot.org.uk or contact our Secretary on 01904 704014 or via email Standrewyork@aol.com
